The Charger men's basketball team dropped their road contest against the Mount Marty Lancers 65-80 in Yankton, South Dakota.
Briar Cliff opened the game strong, jumping out to an early 10–2 lead behind a pair of
Blake Sindelar layups and a
Colby Collison 3-pointer. But the momentum swung quickly as Mount Marty responded with a 22–3 run to take control.
The Lancers built an 18-point lead late in the first half and went into the break ahead 44–29. Mount Marty forced 14 Briar Cliff turnovers and converted them into 27 points.
Collison paced the Chargers with 16 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Sindelar scored 12 with four assists, and
Ryan Kleppe added 10 off the bench.
BC falls to 6-4 (3-2 GPAC) and will return to the Newman Flanagan Center this Wednesday, as they host cross-town rival Morningside. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
