The Charger football team closed out its season with a 28-12 victory over Waldorf on Saturday afternoon in Forest City, Iowa. The win marked Briar Cliff's sixth of the year, securing a winning season and tying the program record for most victories in a single season.
The offense recorded 336 yards of total offense led by the rushing attack that ran for 212 yards on the afternoon.
Chase Thomas rushed for a career high 120 yards on 21 carries while
E'mond Pittman rushed for 77 yards on 24 carries.
Brock Saya had an efficient day throwing, going 17-for-23 passing for 124 yards and recorded two passing touchdowns.
Ezra Heiner on the day recorded five catches for 45 yards and hauled in two receiving touchdowns.
Jayden Westbrook hauled in five catches for 40 yards on the afternoon.
The Chargers got rolling early in the first quarter, using an 11-play 78-yard drive to go up 7-0 capped off by a rushing touchdown by
Je Han King.
Saya connected with Heiner twice in the second quarter for touchdowns, each in the redzone.
Pittman in the fourth put the Chargers up 28-0 following a two-yard rushing touchdown.
Kael Forsyth and
Dayton Harrell both recorded three tackles in the contest.
Johnny Bauser and Harrell both recorded a forced fumble in the contest.
The Chargers conclude the season with a 6-5 (5-5 GPAC) record.
