Briar Cliff continued its unbeaten start to the season with a commanding 95–55 win over Missouri Valley in Atchison, Kansas.
The Chargers (5–0) jumped out early, leading 21–11 after the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Vikings in every period. Briar Cliff's balanced offense and smothering defense forced 28 Missouri Valley turnovers, converting those into 31 points.
Abby Lee led the Chargers with a dominant double-double — 19 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks — while shooting 7-for-12 from the floor.
Mallie McNair matched her with 19 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Taylor Sodeman added 14 points and four boards, and
Kenna Mongan chipped in 10 points and three assists.
Briar Cliff's bench also produced, contributing 30 points as the Chargers shot
47.3% (35-for-74) overall and
47.8% (11-for-23) from three-point range.
Missouri Valley (1–2) struggled to find rhythm against Briar Cliff's pressure defense, shooting
37.5% (21-for-56) and committing 28 turnovers.
Jozelynn Bostick led the Vikings with 10 points, while
Sophie Sullivan scored eight and
Gabriela Modeva added six points and four rebounds off the bench.
The Chargers dominated inside with a
44–35 rebounding advantage and
40 points in the paint, while also recording 15 steals and 22 assists as a team.
Briar Cliff will hit the road next Wednesday, as they travel to Peru, Nebraska to take on Peru College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
