The Charger volleyball fell in straight sets to the visiting Morningside Mustangs inside the Newman Flanagan Center Wednesday evening.
In the first set, the Chargers held a 9-6 lead before the Mustangs went on a 10-0 run to create momentum. The Mustangs rode the momentum to a 25-19 set win.
Morningside in set two raced out to a 8-3 lead early. The Chargers battled back in the set, cutting the deficit to 10-9 with a 6-2 run powered by three kills from
Emma Brenelli.
Brenelli and
Tamika Eastman paced the Charger attack with eight kills apiece.
Brooklyn Voss recorded five blocks while
Aubrey Hoeft recorded four blocks.
Reese Strouth led the team in assists with 14 while
Kylie Hart recorded.
Avery Beller led the team with 27 digs followed by Hart's eight.
The Chargers slide to 9-15 (3-10 GPAC) and will travel to Orange City, Iowa next Wednesday, as they take on the Northwestern Red Raiders. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m.
