The Charger women's soccer team defeated the visiting Mount Marty Lancers 5-0 on Senior Day at Faber Field Saturday afternoon.
The Cliff kicked off the scoring in the 2
nd minute with a goal from
David Utsi-Grinde off an assist grom
Gabriel Hernandez Les. Utsi-Grinde scored in the third minute to put BCU up 2-0 off an assist from
Alejandro Illan.
Hernandez Les capped off the first half scoring with a goal in the 33
rd minute.
Illan and
Alex Johnson tacked on second half goals to give Briar Cliff the victory. Johnson also recorded an assist in the contest.
Emilio Salceda Espinosa and
Xabier Ilundain combined for the shutout, as Ilundain recorded five saves while Espinosa recorded one.
The Chargers improve to 5-6-3 (2-3-2 GPAC) and will return to Faber Field Wednesday to take on the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
