The Charger men's soccer team tied with the visiting Pioneers of Maharishi International University 1-1 on Faber Field Saturday afternoon.
 
In the 34^th minute, the Chargers scored with a goal from Alejandro Illan. Illan paced the Chargers with four shots with three on goal. Finlay Skilling also recorded four shots in the contest.
 
The Pioneers scored the equalizer in the 70^th minute with a goal from Nixson Valencia.
 
The Chargers looked to score the winning goal in the final moments, as Illan fired three shots, missing the first one while the final two were saved by the Pioneers goalkeeper.
 
Emilio Salceda Espinosa played all 90 minutes at keeper, recording one save in the match.
 
The Cliff move to 4-6-2 overall and will return to GPAC play against the Dordt Defenders next Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
