The 9
th ranked Charger women's basketball team used a strong second half start to beat the 14
th ranked Concordia Bulldogs 73-56 inside the Newman Flanagan Center. Briar Cliff held a slim 32-31 lead heading into intermission.

Midway through the third quarter,
Adrianna Webster scored a basket off an assist from
Mallie McNair to spark a 10-2 run to give BCU a 49-41 advantage during the stretch.
Kenna Mongan knocked down back-to-back three-point attempts off assists from
Kennedy Benne to force a Bulldog timeout with 4:27 remaining in the contest.

The Chargers continued the momentum with Webster scoring a basket followed by a three from McNair to put BCU up 54-41 with 2:23 remaining in the third. The Cliff continued their momentum into the final frame, going on a 11-4 run and led by 17 mid-way through the frame. A basket from Mongan gave BCU a 21-point lead with 1:54 remaining in the contest.

Webster led the way with 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds while recording three blocks and a steal. She went an efficient nine-for-16 from the field. Benne finished with 18 points and went a perfect seven-for-seven from the charity stripe and recorded a team high four steals and five assists. Mongan chipped in 13 points and went five-for-eight from the field. McNair added 10 points and shot 50% from the field.
Rachel Langel off the bench added eight points and grabbed four rebounds.

The Chargers shot 50% from the field and converted 11 out of 13 attempts at the free-throw line. The Chargers held the Bulldogs to 38% shooting from the field and 25% from long range.

The Chargers improved to 14-2 (8-2 GPAC) and have extended their winning streak to six. Briar Cliff will return to action next Wednesday, as they host the Warriors of Waldorf inside the Newman Flanagan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
