The 5
th ranked Charger women's basketball team blew past the Waldorf Warriors 80-49 inside the Newman Flanagan Center Wednesday evening. Briar Cliff held the Warriors to 27% shooting from the field and 26% from three-point land.

BCU jumped out to a quick 25-5 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors first basket of the contest came midway through the quarter.

Late in the second quarter,
Rachel Langel recorded a block on the defensive side of the floor and followed it up with a basket to give BCU a 27-point lead. The Cliff were in full control of the contest, leading 42-15 heading into the break.

Grace Flanagan,
Kennedy Benne, and
Taylor Sodeman led the charge with 12 points apiece. Benne led the team with four steals. Sodeman caught fire in the fourth quarter, going four-for-five from downtown.
Adrianna Webster added eight points and grabbed seven rebounds while
Kenna Mongan scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.

The Chargers knocked down 14 threes in the contest and received a big boost from the bench as they combined for 40 points in the match up.

Briar Cliff improves to 15-2 (9-2 GPAC) and have won seven straight. The Chargers will return to action this Saturday, as they travel to Crete, Nebraska to take on the Doane Tigers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
