Volleyball head coach Lindsey Weatherford
"I'm extremely proud of our blocking and defensive efforts in the opening set. We were in the right place to stop their attack along with playing solid on both sides of the ball. Aubrey (Hoeft) led the way on the blocking end of the ball. Avery (Beller) had a solid defensive effort in the back row.  We continue to play hard every time we step on the floor and that will help us as the season goes on."

For Briar Cliff, Beller had 15 digs, her 18th straight double-digit dig match.  The Chargers came away with 16 blocks led by Hoeft at seven.

For Morningside, Payten Lowe and Sydney Marlow had 11 kills each.

Briar Cliff hits the road, Saturday, Sept. 28 taking on Doane.  The match is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
