Briar Cliff head coach Lindsey Weatherford
"I was proud of our overall effort today. Our defense was the story of the game.  Nisa (Davenport) and Avery (Beller) were phenomenal in the back row. We put a lot of focus on blocking this week in practice and it paid off. I thought our defense was the story of the game.  Aubrey (Hoeft), Isabelle (Lenz) and Taryn (Nothem) fueled us in the front row by terminating and blocking at a high rate."

For Briar Cliff, sophomore Emma Brenelli had 11 kills, Nothem had 10 kills and Hoeft had eight kills, hit .500 and finished with eight total blocks.  Beller had 26 digs and Davenport finished with 24.  It was Beller's 16th straight double-digit dig match and she now needs just nine for 1000 career.

For Dakota Wesleyan, Emily Dale had 16 kills and hit .517 while Elizabeth Tyler had 37 digs.

Briar Cliff hits the road, Wednesday, Sept. 18 taking on Waldorf.  The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
