ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Senior Wilton George qualified for nationals as the Briar Cliff University men's outdoor track & field team closed out the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships.
On the men's side, Dordt scored 185 points to win by 23 points over Doane. Rounding out the top five were Concordia (Neb.) (3rd – 139 points), Mount Marty (4th – 98 points) and Midland (5th – 94.5 points).
The Chargers scored nine points to place 10th.
George was runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52. That hit the NAIA "A" cut.
In the 400 hurdles, senior Brian Sosa ran a PR of 1:01.83.
Briar Cliff stays on the road, Friday, May 10 to compete at the Concordia Twilight. The meet is in Seward, Neb.
