The Charger football team announced 25 recruits have signed letter of intents to play football for Briar Cliff University next fall.

"Overall, I'm really pleased with our signing class. Top to bottom. This is our most talented class to date," said Head Coach Shane LaDage. "We got Faster at the skill positions with this class, and bigger up front on both sides of the ball. We also continued our trend of recruiting young men who excel in the classroom."
 
The Chargers signed seven players from the state of Iowa with three prepping at local Woodbury County high schools. Three players hail from the state of Nebraska, and one from South Dakota.
 
Three student-athletes have come from Jourdanton High School in Jourdanton, Texas.
 
Briar Cliff added two quarterbacks this off-season, including a mid-year transfer, along with two running backs. They've also added three wide receivers and a tight end to the class, including Lincoln Benne whose older sister plays basketball at the Cliff. The Chargers also added three offensive linemen.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, Briar Cliff added five defensive linemen, including brothers Michael and Joseph Casarez. The Chargers also received letter of intents from local East high standout Blake Hogancamp, and Woodbury Central's Jackson Reblitz.
 
At linebacker, BCU signed Robert Ceballos, Joshua Meinders, and Jordon Williams. On the backend, Briar Cliff added local North product Dayton Harrell, Jasiah Garza, Brandon Hernandez, and William Steffen.
 
"We will still work to add a few more guys to this class, but we are a few guys away from being done with this class!" I can't thank our staff enough for their hard work, along with our admission department and our faculty who do a great job of helping us throughout the recruitment process!" said LaDage.
