Briar Cliff Competes At Blazing Tiger

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Every runner hit a PR as the Briar Cliff University men's and women's cross country teams ran at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Invite.  The men ran 8000-meters while the women ran 6000-meters.

For the men, College of Idaho scored 31 points to win by 38 points over St. Mary (Kan.).  Rounding out the top five was Dordt (3rd – 113 points), Kansas Wesleyan (4th – 138 points) and Doane (5th – 200 points).

For Briar Cliff, the top runner was freshman James Nagle who ran 28:00.01 to place 219th.  Rounding out the squad was freshman Demetry Hoseth (31:11.52 – 313th) and senior Daron Jackson Jr. (31:34.27 – 321st).

For the women, St. Mary (Kan.) edged out College of Idaho 30-66 for first place.  Rounding out the top five was Dordt (3rd – 100 points), Kansas Wesleyan (4th – 153 points) and Lewis-Clark (5th – 206 points).

For Briar Cliff, freshman Ashley Quimiro-Rosales ran 27:29.61 to finish 261st.

Briar Cliff competes on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the GPAC Championship. The meet is in Ashland, Neb.
