The Charger men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Midland Warriors in Fremont, Nebraska Saturday evening.
Both teams were neck-and-neck for majority of the match, with both teams recording 13 shots in the contest. Phillip Hanel spent all 90 minutes at keeper for the Chargers, recording six saves in the contest.
Six minutes into the match,
Antoni Llull Plomer had his header turned away by the Warriors keeper.
Hugo Mariage had a chance in the 15
th minute but was turned away by Hugo Sjoeberg.
In the final minutes of the match, Briar Cliff looked for the equalizer.
Cole Van Holland's header was turned away in the 83
rd minute, followed by
Flynn Kopp's and Herman Toftevag's shot being blocked by the Warriors.
Andrew Buchanan,
Filip Peters, and
Cole Van Holland all recorded two shots in the match.
The Chargers will return to action on October 16
th, as they host the Defenders of Dordt on Faber Field. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
