After leading for the first three quarters of the contest, the #10 Chargers saw their lead slip away, as they fell to the Broncos of Hastings 71-63.
 
Konnor Sudmann with 4:54 remaining in the half, scored on an and-one play in the paint, to become the fourth Charger in program history to record 2,000 career points. The last Chargers to achieve this milestone are Wendy Hammen and Cynthia Steele in 1998. She now ranks fourth all-time in scoring with 2,016 points.
 
The Chargers and Broncos were neck-and-neck in the first half, as Briar Cliff took a 35-29 lead heading into halftime following Cadence Davis' buzzer beater jumper.
 
Late in the third quarter, Kennedy Benne converted on an and-one play to give BCU a 49-43 lead. The Broncos closed the quarter on a 7-2 run to trail by one heading into the fourth. With 1:15 remaining in the contest, the Bronco's Bailey Kissinger scored on a layup to give Hastings a 66-60 lead. On the ensuing possession, the Chargers went to Grace Flanagan, who knocked down a contested three to bring the Chargers within a possession with 47 seconds left. The Broncos would go five-for-six from the charity stripe to ice the game away.
 
Sudmann paced the Chargers with 18 points and eight rebounds, shooting 50% from the field. Benne added 13 points and recorded eight steals in the contest. Flanagan off the bench nailed three triples, alongside Davis' six points in a reserve role.
 
BCU falls to 13-7 (8-6 GPAC) and will look to rebound Wednesday evening as they host the Warriors of Midland. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
