The Charger wrestling team went 2-1 during the second round of GPAC Duals, taking down Hastings 43-3, Concordia 22-20, before falling to Morningside 32-16.
Ethan Krey went 3-0 in his matches today in the 149-pound division.

Briar Cliff began the day with a 43-3 victory over the Broncos of Hastings.
Seth I'nama kicked things off at 125, earning a 12-7 decision victory over Justin Rodriguez.
Juan Lugo earned a major decision victory at 141 over Sebastian Macedo. Krey earned a tech fall at 149 followed by
Brandon Harris' victory at 165 gave the Chargers a 21-3 with four bouts remaining.
Christian Balmer and
Alton Allen in the final two bouts sealed it for the Cliff, earning pins at 197 and 285.

The Chargers in their second dual of the day earned a narrow 22-20 victory over Concordia.
Dante Rigal at 125 kicked things off with a pin to add six points for the Cliff.
CaRon Watson at 133 earned a decision victory followed by Krey's pin at 149 gave BCU a 15-6 lead. The Bulldogs took the next four weight classes, and the Chargers fate lied upon Balmer and Allen. Balmer and Allen came through for the Chargers, as Balmer earned the victory in overtime, followed by Allen's major decision victory gave BCU the victory.

In the final dual of the day, Briar Cliff fell to cross-town rival Morningside 32-16. The Chargers received a pin victory from Rigal to open the dual, and the Mustangs forfeited at 133. Krey earned a 12-4 major decision victory at 149, but the Mustangs took the next six bouts to win the dual.

The Chargers sit at 6-2 in GPAC Duals and are third in the standings. The Chargers will have an exhibition dual against the Red Raiders of Northwestern February 3rd. The Chargers will also look forward to the GPAC Championships hosted on February 16
th and the 17
th.
