CHARGER WRESTLING DOWN RED RAIDERS 31-18

The RV Charger wrestling team improved to 3-1 in duals after taking down GPAC for Northwestern 31-18 in Orange City, Iowa Tuesday evening.

"We did well tonight, Northwestern was a little banged up, unfortunately, but our guys wrestled well and at a high level," said Head Coach Joe Privitere. "The goal is to attack the Missouri Valley Invite this weekend with the same intensity. We should have a good idea of where we are as a team come Sunday."

Seth I'nama got the Chargers on the board early, taking a 10-4 decision victoy over Logan Schroeder in the opening bout at 125. CaRon Watson tacked on four points for the Cliff, earning a 13-0 major decision victory over Jonny Burnette.

The Chargers' Ethan Krey would add six points for the Chargers, winning by pin fall over Daniel Hinds in the 149-pound bout. The Chargers would then take the next three open weight classes to take a commanding lead in the dual.

Northwestern would take the 184 and 197-pound bouts via tech fall and major decision over the Chargers. In the final bout at 285-pounds, Jesse Hastings fell due to injury. The Chargers would take their third dual of the season 31-18.

The Chargers move to 3-1 in duals against GPAC foes, and will travel this weekend to Marshall, Missouri for the Missouri Valley Invite. The two-day event begins this Friday January 19th.
