The Briar Cliff women's soccer team held a 1-0 lead at halftime Wednesday but would end up drawing with Dordt 1-1 in their GPAC opener.

After putting a pair of shots on net early in the contest, the Chargers would get past the Dordt keeper in the 36
th minute. After a foul on the Defenders,
Gemma White put away her first goal of the season on a penalty kick. The Chargers would hold Dordt to just one shot in the first half, which was saved by
Kinley Wood.

The Defenders scored the equalizer early in the second half, as Abby Worthy scored her first goal of the season in the 55
th minute. The Chargers had an opportunity for a go-ahead goal, but the shot from White was wide right.

White took two shots to lead the Cliff, including her first goal of the season.
Sydney Robbins and
Sadie Jones also put shots on frame.

Wood made one save and allowed one goal in her first start in net for Blue and Gold.

The Chargers will travel to Orange City, Iowa on Saturday to face Northwestern. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. against the Red Raiders.
