The Briar Cliff women's soccer team fell 0-1 to Northwestern Saturday night in Orange City, Iowa. The Chargers were able to put nine shots on goal but were held scoreless by the Red Raiders.

 The Chargers took four shots in the first 12 minutes, including three in a three-minute span. BC was off the mark on two of those shots, and the Red Raider keeper saved the other two attempts.

Northwestern scored the game winner in the 31
st minute off an Anna Miller goal. Miller was assisted by Julie Dunlap who took the corner kick that set up the score.

Hannah Shuttleworth looked to equalize seven minutes later off a pass from
Sydney Robbins but was stopped by the NWC keeper.

The Chargers put five shots on frame in the second half and were awarded two corner kicks but were unable to convert for a game tying goal.

Shuttleworth led the Clif with three shots on goal, while Robbins put two on net.
Kinley Wood made five saves in her 90 minutes in net.

Briar Cliff took 13 shots with nine on goal, compared to NWC's 16 shots and six on frame. The Red Raiders had four corner kicks to the Cliff's two.

Briar Cliff returns to Memorial Field on Wednesday for a GPAC matchup with Dakota Wesleyan at 1:30 p.m.
