Box Score The #18 Charger women's basketball team fell 57-67 in a crosstown clash against Morningside in Allee Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Payton Slaughter led the way for Briar Cliff with 13 points apiece.
In the first 10 minutes of the contest, BC forced 10 Mustang turnovers. The Chargers put up 18 shot attempts compared to the 10 attempts from Morningside. In the fast-paced first quarter, the Cliff managed to gather five offensive rebounds. At the conclusion of the first quarter, the Chargers held a slim 13-9 lead.
The Chargers found themselves in a chippy, low-scoring defensive battle for most of the first half. Between the two teams, 13 turnovers were committed in the second quarter. As a team, the Chargers shot 4-of-10 from the field in the second quarter while the Mustangs shot 4-of-15.
For the contest, the Chargers shot 33.9% from the field compared to the Mustangs' 51.0%. Bench points proved to be impactful as the Chargers had three and Morningside had 22.
The Chargers held the advantage in turnovers (19-27) and a slim lead in points off turnovers (17-16).
Payton Slaughter, a major floor presence for the Chargers, recorded 13 points, eight rebounds (five offensive), four steals and three assists.
Peyton Wingert matched her with 13 points along with six rebounds.
Konnor Sudmann added 12 points, four rebounds and two steals while
Madelyn Deitchler was the final Charger to score in double-digits carding 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Kennedy Benne had a team-high five steals.
The Charger women have a six-day break as they return home to the NFC to take on Hastings on Friday, February 10 at 6:00 p.m.
