CHARGER HOOPS SET FOR GPAC TOURNAMENT AGAINST CROSSTOWN RIVAL

The Briar Cliff basketball teams are both set for rematches against Morningside on Tuesday evening in the GPAC Postseason Tournament. The No. 2 seeded women host Morningside in the Newman Flanagan while the No. 7 seeded men travel across town to Allee Gymnasium to take on the Mustangs. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.

The #23 Charger women dominated Doane in their 96-76 regular season finale win. Kennedy Benne recorded a career-high 27 points while Payton Slaughter added 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Five Chargers scored in double-digits. The full game notes can be found HERE.

The Charger men downed Doane 77-75 in their regular season finale. Matthew Stilwill nailed a floater as time expired to lift the Chargers past Doane and into the No. 7 seed in the GPAC Tournament.

Conner Groves cashed in 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from deep range. Stilwill netted 17 points to go with six rebounds while Quinn Vesey added 13 points and six boards as well. The full game notes can be found HERE.
