Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

CHARGERS CLIPPED BY DEFENDERS

The Charger men's basketball team dropped their contest against Dordt 78-59 inside the Newman Flanagan Center Wednesday evening. The Cliff struggled to find the bottom of the net, shooting 35% from the field.

"I was disappointed in our start tonight, I thought Dordt brought the fight to us on both ends of the ball," said Head Coach Mark Svagera. "We need to do a better job in our preparation and make sure were ready to start games that are high level and look towards the weekend."

The Cliff found themselves on the wrong end of an 11-2 run capped by a basket from Dordt's Lucas Lorenzen. The Chargers trailed 15-7 following a basket from Blake Sindelar off an assist from Tyrus Eischeid. The Defenders led by 19 following a basket from Jake Hargens with 5:56 to go in the half. The Chargers trailed Dordt 42-26 heading into the half.

BCU opened the second half with a three from Sindelar, but Dordt's Bryce Coppock quickly matched with a three of his own on the other end. The Chargers were unable to make stops on the defensive end of the floor, as Dordt led by as many as 27 in the half.

Tyrus Eischeid led the Chargers with 12 points and shot 50% from the field after coming off the bench. Jamison Helmers chipped in nine points.

The Chargers fall to 9-3 (3-2 GPAC), and will look to rebound as they host the Concordia Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at the Newman Flanagan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
