Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

CHARGERS DRAW WITH WARRIORS ON SENIOR DAY

The Briar Cliff's women's soccer team outshot Waldorf Saturday at Faber Field but played to a 0-0 draw.

"We dominated the game but unfortunately the ball didn't go in the net," said head coach Gabrielle Parks. "Sometimes that's football and we look ahead to Wednesday."

The Chargers controlled possession for a majority of the game. They had the advantage in shots (15 to five) and shots on goal (nine to five) but were kept scoreless by the Warriors' keeper.

The Chargers had chances in the second half to net a game winner, but were stopped on all four of their shots on goal.

In 90 minutes in net, the Chargers goalie, Jaime Rowlands, stopped all five shots she faced. The Warriors keeper made nine saves in the draw.

Gemma White and Hannah Shuttleworth had a combined 11 shots. White put four shots on goal, while Shuttleworth had three.

The Chargers were awarded four corner kicks, and limited Waldorf to one. Both teams were given a red card late in the contest, BC had six to the Warriors nine fouls in the match.

This is Briar Cliff's third draw and moves them to 4-3-4 on the season. The Charger's next match will be Wednesday at Elwood Olsen Stadium to face Morningside. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
