The Briar Cliff cross country team competed in the Flaming Tiger NAIA Classisc at Mahoney State Park Saturday morning.

"Today was a good tune-up before conference," said
Scott Barnes, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country. "Juan DJ and Caleb ran incredible on the guys side and for the girls, Pluma, Jalen, and Rylee all had personal bests today.

Juan Celio paced the Charger men, finishing the 8k in 28:06, followed by Daron Jackson's time of 28:23.3.Â

Kenny Nolan,
Caleb Sassman, and
Connor Antonino rounded off the men's team with times of 30:38, 31:17.3, and 33:29.2 respectively.

On the women's side,
Lexi Weber finished the 6k race in 27:10, followed by
Maria Russell's 28:03.1.Â

Pluma Pross and
Jalen Pike secured times of 28:35.9 and 28:48.7 respectively.
Rylee Antonino rounded off the women's side with a time of 29:38.3.

"We look to build off this momentum at our home course in two weeks for GPAC," said Barnes.

The Charger cross-country team will now prepare for the GPAC Championships on November 4 at the Adams Nature Preserve.  Â
