The Briar Cliff volleyball team fell in straight sets Monday night to nonconference foe Dakota State in Madison, South Dakota.
After falling behind 11-19 in set one, the Chargers outscored the Trojans 9-4 with a four-point run capped off by a
Kanoelani Shadron service ace. Back-to-back kills from Dakota State's Sydney Schell would close out set one 25-20.
Chloe Johnson put down four kills on seven attempts in the first set to pace the Cliff.
The Trojans pulled ahead in set two with a four-point run followed by a 3-0 swing to take a 10-4 edge. BC clawed back into the set with three straight points and trailed 15-17 after an

Sami Wasmund recorded her fourth kill of the night but was followed by a Dakota State score to end set two 25-21 in favor of the Trojans. The Charger attack struggled to get going in set three, recording a .000 hitting percentage and falling 11-25.
Chloe Johnson had a team-high 10 kills and a .304 hitting percentage to go with 16 digs.
Toria Andre had four kills and four blocks, while Wasmund had six kills and three blocks.
Emma Porter dished out 16 assists and Shadron had seven.
Tannah Heath totaled 14 digs, while
Jaice Johnsen and Porter each had seven.
The Chargers return to the Newman Flanagan Center on Wednesday for a meeting with #14 Dordt. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
