In the second nonconference meeting between the two teams, Dakota State downed #22 Briar Cliff 88-83 Sunday. The Chargers won in the first matchup earlier this season 85-78 at the Concordia Cattle Classic.

The Chargers hung with a hot-shooting Trojan team in the first quarter and trailed 18-23 after 10 minutes. Dakota State shot 60% from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers, the Cliff shot 40% and found 12 of their points in the paint.

Briar Cliff found themselves down by 14 points a couple minutes in the second quarter but would begin to chip away at the deficit. The Chargers closed out the final 4:28 with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 44 at halftime.

BC scored 26 points in the second quarter on 55.6% shooting and made the most out of their trips to the charity stripe connecting on 5-of-6 attempts.

Neither team could pull away in the third quarter, as the lead changed hands five times and they both scored 22 points. The Chargers found their rhythm from deep in the period, hitting on 4-of-5 attempts.

Peyton Wingert scored six of the first eight Charger points in the fourth quarter, as BC built up an eight-point lead. The Trojans would outscore BC 22-9 over the final seven minutes and converted 10-of-18 free throws in the quarter.

Konnor Sudmann had a game-high 21 points, dished out seven assists and had four rebounds.
Madelyn Deitchler had 20 points and three rebounds.

Wingert recorded her first double-double in the Blue and Gold with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She recorded five assists and went 9-for-12 from the free throw line.
Payton Slaughter recorded 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

The Chargers will return to action after the holiday break on December 31 against Avila in Kansas City, Missouri.
