The Briar Cliff men's soccer team rebounded Saturday with an 8-3 victory over Presentation at Memorial Field.
Danny Baca proved to be the difference for the Charger tonight, as the senior forward tallied four goals.
Joao Pedro Lima put the Chargers on the scoreboard first, converting a penalty kick in the 13th minute.
Marcus Horwood found Baca in the middle of the box in the 29th minute, who beat the Saints goalkeeper to give the Cliff a 2-0 lead. Presentation's Jomar Munaf found the back of the net off a penalty kick to pull within one of BC.
Baca quickly responded scoring his second goal of the night just 30 seconds after the Saints goal, assisted by
Jacob Harvey. He then completed his first half hat trick two minutes later, putting BC up 4-1. Horwood added onto the lead with an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute. Baca scored his fourth goal in 57th minute, while
Sebastian Justiniano and
Vinicius Gregorio also added second half goals. The Saints added two goals in the final ten minutes to close out the 8-3 Charger win.
Baca;s four goals is tied for third for most goals scored in a game in program history. Prichard Sibanda holds the BC record with his six goals against Presentation in 2017.
Briar Cliff returns home September 9 hosting Iowa Wesleyan for a 2 p.m. kickoff at Faber Field.
