BC baseball ended its season with a loss to #20 Concordia Saturday in Seward, Nebraska. The Chargers fell in the championship contest of the Concordia bracket of the GPAC Postseason Tournament.
The Chargers held the Bulldogs scoreless through three innings before giving up runs in all but one of the final six frames. Briar Cliff's only run came in the eighth.
Harrison Jestel was sent home from second on an RBI single by
Jake Allen.
BC's other best chance of the game came in the first, when BC loaded the bases with just one out, but a strikeout and a fielder's choice left the Chargers scoreless with three stranded baserunners.
Kyler Steinborn takes the loss on the mound but struck out 11 batters in five innings of work. He gave up five hits and four earned runs.
Austin Carter,
Tyler Kjose and
Alex Kremer served in relief for the last four frames.
Briar Cliff managed five hits, with one each from Allen, Jestel and
Trevor Adler and two from Matt Hmiliewski. Hmiliewski was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
The Chargers end the year with a 34-20 overall mark.
