The Briar Cliff baseball team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa Wednesday afternoon for a nonconference, nine-inning contest against RV Clarke. The Chargers fell 7-6 to the Pride, giving up the game-winning run in the top of the ninth. 
 
Despite the loss, a few players had strong showings for the Cliff. Connor Lange went 4-4 at the plate with a home run and a double to go with one walk. Jared Sitzmann was 2-3 with two runs, a triple and two walks and Darnell Prince went 3-5 with two RBIs. 
 
Houston Hawkins is tagged with the Charger loss, giving up one hit and one run in his two innings of work. 
 
The Chargers will return to conference action over the weekend with a four-game series at Doane Saturday and Sunday.
