Briar Cliff University

Van Dusen joined the Briar Cliff women’s volleyball staff as an assistant coach in the spring of 2025.

In his first season on staff, he helped lead the Chargers to a 10-17 record, which is a program best since 2021.

Van Dusen brings over a decade of coaching experience from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, serving as a multi-sport assistant coach from 2012-2024. His coaching background includes volleyball (2021–24), basketball (2013–19), football (2015–17), track & field (2015–18), and strength training (2012–16). He was part of the Bishop Heelan volleyball staff that captured the 2024 Iowa state championship.

A Sioux City native and Bishop Heelan graduate, Van Dusen played football at Briar Cliff University from 2011–2014, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sports science. 

Van Dusen has strong ties to Briar Cliff, where he met his wife, Toni Beck Van Dusen, a former Charger volleyball player.
