Clark Charlestin was named head coach of the Briar Cliff women's soccer team in February 2021. Charlestin returns to Briar Cliff after having spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an assistant with the BC men's team.Â
Charlestin became the Chargers' head coach in a unique season, with the majority of the regular season being played in the fall with a few tune-up games and the conference tournament being played in the spring due to COVID-19. The Chargers played four games under Charlestin in the spring, going 2-2, and picked up a win over #15 Baker. Charlestin coached the team in its first NAIA National Tournament appearance.Â
In his two seasons as a member of the men's coaching staff on the Cliff, Charlestin assisted in guiding the Chargers to a 22-13-3 overall record and two conference tournament appearances. He also played a key role in recruiting and fundraising for the team as well as building a team culture with expectations for success on and off the field.

Charlestin also spent the 2018 and 2019 spring seasons as the head coach of the girls soccer team at Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City. At the helm for the Crusaders, Charlestin guided the team to back-to-back state tournament appearances and a runner-up finish in 2018. He was named the Catholic Youth Organization Coach of the Year in 2018.

After his first stint at Briar Cliff, Charlestin was an assistant coach for the 2019 Waldorf men's soccer team in Forest City, Iowa. He was instrumental in recruitment and retention for the Warriors and coached four first-team all-conference players.

Since June 2020, Charlestin has been an assistant coach with the women's soccer team at the University of the Cumberlands in Corbin, Kentucky. He has worked closely with the head coach to develop training sessions amid COVID-19 protocols and recruit future student-athletes while facing COVID-19 challenges.
Charlestin is a 2016 graduate of Grand View University and holds a bachelor's degree in political science. He obtained his master's degree in management and leadership from Briar Cliff in 2019.
