Biography
AT BC: In his second year with the Charger track program... During the indoor seasons has participated in the 800M, 1000M, 1600M, and the 4x800M relay... During the outdoor seasons has participated in the 800M, 1500M, and the 4x800M relay.
HS: Benson was a seven-time letterwinner for the Eagles of Lawton-Bronson (four in track and three in wrestling). He was a two-time state track qualifier in the 4x800m and distance medley. Benson also a district wrestling champion, who qualfied for state and was named the team's Most Outstanding Wrestler as a junior. He was also a sectional champion on the mat as a junor and conference champion as a senior. As a senior captain, Benson led the Eagle wrestling and track teams to conference titles. He was a two-time Hustle Award recipient.
PERSONAL: Aside from athletic accolades, Benson was named the academic student of the month and the fine arts student of the week. The son of Dennis and Crystal Benson of Sioux City, Iowa also finished first in the school's Presidential Fitness testing, senior year.
