The RV Charger women's soccer team defeated RV Graceland 4-3 Wednesday, improving to 3-0 on the season.
Angelina Saade put the Chargers on the board early, converting a penalty kick in the third minute to give BCU a 1-0 lead. Graceland answered in the 29th minute, sending the match into halftime tied at 1-1.
Saade struck again in the 53rd minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from Ondine Manceau to put the Chargers back in front. The Yellowjackets responded again just under four minutes later to tie the match at 2-2.
The Chargers broke the tie in the 72nd minute when Saade completed her hat trick off an assist from Sierra Brooks. Just 53 seconds later, Saade added her fourth goal of the night to give BCU a 4-2 advantage.
Graceland cut the deficit to one in the 81st minute, but the Charger defense held strong over the final minutes to secure the 4-3 victory.
Saade led the Chargers with four goals on four shots on target, while Manceau and Brooks each recorded an assist. Caitlin Anderholm came up big in goal, making eight saves. Graceland held a 21-8 advantage in shots, but BCU put five of its eight shots on target and converted its opportunities.
The Chargers return to action Saturday, September 5, hosting York University at Faber Field. Kick-off is set for 1 pm.
