Therese Molin of the Charger women's soccer team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week following a strong opening weekend, including a game-winning goal against No. 18 Central Methodist.

Molin, a native of Sodertalje, Sweden played a key role in helping the Chargers open the season with back-to-back victories, earning wins over William Penn and No. 18 Central Methodist.

The Junior midfielder scored in each of Briar Cliff's first two matches, totaling two goals and four points on the weekend. Molin's biggest moment came against nationally ranked Central Methodist, where she found the back of the net for the game-winning goal as the Chargers defeated the Eagles 3-2.

Her performance helped Briar Cliff improve to 2-0 on the season and secure a statement victory.

The Chargers will return to action Wednesday, September 2 traveling to Lamoni, Iowa to take on Graceland University. Kick-off is set for 5 PM.
