The Briar Cliff women's basketball team fell Tuesday night in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament to the No.13 Concordia Bulldogs 111-70.
Concordia opened the game with a strong shooting stretch in the first quarter to build an early lead. Briar Cliff responded with continued effort on both ends of the floor, settling in offensively and battling through the second quarter as the Bulldogs carried a 62–33 advantage into halftime.
The Chargers came out of the break with renewed energy, turning in their best offensive quarter of the night in the third. BCU scored 25 points in the frame, moving the ball well and finding rhythm offensively while matching Concordia's pace for much of the period.
Concordia maintained control in the fourth, using perimeter shooting and depth to pull away late and secure the win.
Abby Lee led Briar Cliff with a game-high 25 points on an efficient 11-of-19 shooting performance while also adding five rebounds. Mallie McNair followed with 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals, knocking down four three-pointers. Brooklyn Heineman added 10 points, five steals, and five rebounds, while Kinzee Hinders contributed five points and five rebounds off the bench.
As a team, BCU shot 43.1 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free-throw line, showing consistency offensively while continuing to compete defensively throughout the contest.
With the result, Briar Cliff wraps up the 2025–26 season with a 19–10 overall record and a 13–9 mark in GPAC play.Â
