The Charger men's basketball team used a hot-shooting first half to defeat the Concordia Bulldogs 80–72 inside the Newman Flanagan Center on Senior Day.
The seniors of the men's basketball team paved the way to snap a three-game skid.
Blake Sindelar paced Briar Cliff with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while
Dawson Mohr added 16 points and
Wil Lugar contributed 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Briar Cliff built a 46–31 halftime lead behind 63% shooting in the opening period and finished the game at 55.3% from the field and 45.8% from 3-point range. The Chargers led the entire contest and forced 18 turnovers that led to 20 points.
Colby Collison and
Jaxson Wingert scored 12 points each for the Chargers. The Cliff outrebounded the Bulldogs 33–21.
Concordia was led by Brooks Kissinger's game-high 32 points on 13-of-21 shooting. Jacob Duitsman scored 10 points off the bench, and Jaxon Stueve added eight. The Bulldogs shot 45% overall and held a 40–28 edge in points in the paint but couldn't overcome Briar Cliff's early surge.
The Chargers move to 13-13 (10-9 GPAC) on the season and will face the Morningside Mustangs next Saturday in Allee Gym in Sioux City, Iowa. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
