The Briar Cliff University men's basketball team will open its home schedule Friday, Oct. 30, welcoming RV Huntington University to the Newman Flanagan Center as part of the second annual GPAC/Crossroads Challenge.

The two-day event brings together teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and the Crossroads League for a weekend of non-conference competition. The challenge returns for its second year after making its debut in Indiana last season, with this year's games split between Briar Cliff and Morningside University.

Friday's action at the Newman Flanagan Center begins at 5:30 p.m. when No. 25 Morningside takes on No. 1 Grace. The Chargers will then take the floor against RV Huntington at 7:30 p.m. as they open the home portion of their schedule.

Briar Cliff will look to take advantage of its home-court environment as it welcomes the Foresters for an early-season match-up. The challenge provides an opportunity for the Chargers to compete against quality non-conference competition while opening the home portion of their schedule in front of the Charger faithful.

The GPAC/Crossroads Challenge continues Saturday at Morningside, where teams will wrap up the two-day event. Briar Cliff will take on No.1 Grace at 2 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to come out to the Newman Flanagan Center Friday to support the Chargers as they begin their home schedule.
