The Charger wrestling team returned to action Friday evening, defeating the Northwestern Red Raiders 32-20 in Orange City, Iowa.
 

"Once again, I was pleased with our effort and intensity tonight. But I was even more pleased with how we responded to adversity during the course of the dual," said Head Coach Donaco Watts. "We had several guys step up and notch bonus point wins that helped put the match out of reach."

 
The Cliff opened the dual with a victory at 125, with Parker Leverknight defeating Logan Schroeder 20-4 earning the technical fall victory. Jarrod Gilliam followed up with a pin over Kane Butrick in the 133-pound bout.
 
In the 157-pound bout, Tyler Fouts earned a 9-8 decision victory over Cade Braun. Jackson Balmer at 165 won via pin over Wyatt Bice.
 
At 184-pound match, Ethan Gregg defeated Thomas Vance by pin.
 
The Chargers improved to 5-2 (2-1 GPAC) and will return to action January 17, as they compete in the Worthington Open.
