The 13
th-ranked Briar Cliff women's basketball team turned in a dominant home performance Wednesday night, rolling past Midland 75-50 in GPAC action inside the Newman Flanagan Center.

The Chargers set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-15 lead after the first quarter and clamping down defensively in the second, holding the Warriors to just four points to take a commanding 38-19 advantage into halftime. BCU continued to control the game in the second half, outscoring Midland in each of the final two quarters to secure the victory.Â

Abby Lee led the Chargers with a double-double, adding 17 points, along with 14 rebounds. Lee also tallied four blocks in the win.
Mallie McNair followed with 15 points, knocking down three triples and contributing three steals.
Taylor Sodeman also reached double figures, scoring 11 points to go along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Brooklyn Heineman dished out four assists on the night and chipped in eight points along with three steals, while
Kenna Mongan added seven points, four rebounds, and three assists.

As a team, Briar Cliff shot 39 percent from the field and held a 41-37 rebounding advantage. BCU also forced 20 Midland turnovers while committing just seven.

With the win, the Chargers now move to 13-3 overall and 7-3 in GPAC. They return to action Saturday, January 10, traveling to Seward, Nebraska, to take on the Concordia Bulldogs. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
