Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

EFFICENT OFFENSE LEADS CHARGERS PAST TIGERS

The Charger men's basketball team pulled away in the second half to beat Dakota Wesleyan 90–81 on Tuesday night at the Newman Flanagan Center.

"I thought tonight was a gritty effort, I don't know if you're going to find a quintessential GPAC Basketball game, I thought both teams played incredibly hard," said Head Coach Mark Svagera. "I was really proud of our guys, especially in the second half, we found a way to get some stops after a less than stellar defensive first half."

Blake Sindelar led the Chargers with 23 points, 13 rebounds and six assists while playing all 40 minutes. Jaxson Wingert added 20 points, and Joshua Stevenson scored 15 points off the bench for BC. Wil Lugar and Colby Collison each finished with 10. Dawson Mohr finished eight points and knocked down a pair of threes.

Briar Cliff shot 53.6 percent from the field and made 10 3-pointers while building a 49–43 halftime lead. The Chargers stretched their advantage to as many as 15 midway through the second half and out-rebounded the Tigers 35–27.

"I thought our bench was great, Josh Stevenson played great, Dawson Mohr made a couple big shots and Ryan Kleppe made a couple big plays," said Svagera. "We're going into thanksgiving break, take a couple days off, and we're going to get better."

Dakota Wesleyan stayed within reach behind 19 points and 14 rebounds from Randy Rosenquist Jr. Easton Neuendorf scored 17 points, and Anthony Riggans added 14. The Tigers shot 49.2 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from 3-point range but couldn't overcome their turnovers or Briar Cliff's bench production.

Briar Cliff had a 25–7 edge in bench points and scored 12 points off turnovers. Both teams finished with 38 points in the paint.

The Chargers improve to 6-2 (3-0 GPAC) and will return to action this Saturday as they take on the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
