Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Chargers Battle Tough

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Briar Cliff University women's soccer team (0-2) lost 4-0 to #12 Columbia College (1-0), Wednesday afternoon at Faber Field.

Senior Jaime Rowlands made two big saves in the first 15 minutes to keep the game scoreless.  Columbia College managed to break through at the 18:56 mark.

With 3:48 to go in the first half, senior Emily Moran blasted a shot that somehow was grabbed by the goalie at the last moment.  The Cougars scored three goals in a 10-minute span in the second half to seal the game.

Briar Cliff had two shots with one on goal, one corner kick and were called for seven fouls.  Rowlands finished with nine saves.

Columbia College had 24 shots with 13 on goal, nine corner kicks and were called for seven fouls.

Briar Cliff hits the road, Wednesday, Aug. 28, taking on Northern State.  The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
