The Charger men's basketball team fell in the final moments against Dakota Wesleyan 79-78 in Mitchell, South Dakota Wednesday evening.

With the Chargers trailing by two with 23 seconds left,
Matthew Stilwill got the ball on the right wing. In a triple threat position, Stilwill Jab stepped, and buried a three with the defender covering him to give Briar Cliff a one-point lead. After a timeout, the Tiger's Randy Rosenquist scored a layup in the final seconds to take the lead.

In the effort, Stilwill poured in 37 points and shot 15-for-25 and four-for-seven from three. He also grabbed five rebounds and grabbed two steals.
Tyrus Eischeid chipped in 18 points and shot 50% from the field and snagged six boards.

With 15 minutes left in regulation, a bucket from Eischeid pushed the Charger lead to 10. The Tigers offense found their rhythm in the half, knocking down nine threes to cut into the deficit. The Tigers took a 70-68 lead with four minutes remaining.

The Charger offense shot 53% from the field and 43% from three. Briar Cliff's defense held the Tigers to 43% from the field and 42% from three.

The Chargers move to 13-10 overall (7-8 GPAC) and will return home this Saturday, as they take on the Tigers of Doane. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
