Briar Cliff In The Hunt

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Senior Helene Getz Bergmo and sophomore Olivia Sorlie are among the top five as the Briar Cliff University women's golf team closed out Day One of the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic.

The tournament is being played at Green Valley Golf Course, a Par-72.

Morningside shot +42 (330) and leads by 10 strokes over Briar Cliff. Rounding out the top five are Iowa Central CC (3^rd - +57 / 345), Northwestern (Iowa) (4^th - +61 / 349) and Doane (5^th - +62 / 350).

Individually, Lucy Brown (Morningside) and Alysen Sander (Morningside) shot +8 (80) and lead by two strokes over Ivanna Becerra-Diaz (Iowa Central CC), Getz Bergmo and Sorlie.

Getz Bergmo and Sorlie lead the team with nine pars each.

Senior Kelly Baade and freshman Lucy Carter are tied for 15^th at +16 (88).

Sophomore Emma Erickson is tied for 32^nd at +24 (96).
