A strong first half from beyond the arc was not enough, as the Charger men's basketball team dropped their road contest against #13 Northwestern Wednesday evening in Orange City 92-77.

The Charger came out strong in the first half, knocking down 10 threes and leading by as many as 14. With 1:48 remaining in the half, the Red Raiders stormed back to even the score 48-48. Briar Cliff's
Matthew Stilwill knocked down a trey off an assist from
Quinn Vesey to take a three-point lead. Northwestern would take a 46-43 lead heading into intermission following an and-one from Zach LaFave.

After trading baskets to start the final 20 minutes, Northwestern went on a 15-2 run to take a 61-48 lead. The Chargers were unable to string together stops, and the Red Raiders were able to pull away and take the contest 92-77.

Stilwill led the Chargers with 18 points and five assists and went seven-for-11 from the field. He went three-for-three from downtown in the contest.
Blake Sindelar added 16 points and shot 66% from three while knocking down four in the contest. Tyrus Eisched added 12 points and hit three triples coming off the bench.

The Chargers fall to 9-7 (3-5 GPAC) and will look to bounce back, as they host the GPAC leading Hastings Broncos next Saturday inside the Newman Flanagan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
