The Briar Cliff baseball team erupted for 15 runs in their 15-3 win over Louisiana Christian. Trey Rogers had a team-high four hits including a double and homerun.

"That's the most complete game we've played in our tenure at Briar Cliff", said head coach Corby McGlauflin. "I'm really proud of the way we trusted our approaches at the plate and Kyler Steinborn was incredible on the mound."

The Chargers are now on an eight-game winning streak.

Game 1 – W, 15-3
The Chargers jumped on the board early plating two runs in the top of the first. After a Rogers single and doubles from Connor Lange and Jake Allen, the Chargers rolled to a first inning 2-0 lead.

Kyler Steinborn shut down the Wildcats in the bottom half of the first frame, going three up three down with a strikeout and two routine groundouts.

After an opening walk by Cyler Melvin, Rogers roped a single past the shortstop with Cam Riemer due up. Riemer launched the home run of the game to right-center field, collecting three RBIs and extending the BC lead to 5-0 early in the contest.

Louisiana Christian would answer with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second. After a double to open the frame, Braxton Cooksey sent a two-run home run to right field to edge the game closer 5-2.

Following the scoreless third, BC poured in two more runs in the fourth. Devon Farrell singled to lead off the inning and was immediately followed by a Jared Sitzmann double to right field. The hit train wasn't done yet as Rogers lined a two-RBI double to right field and was later driven in by Riemer's single, pushing the Cliff's lead to six runs.

The Charger defense kept the Wildcats scoreless in the frame after recording a ground ball double-play and a Steinborn strikeout.

Briar Cliff's offense was running on all cylinders as they added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Farrell walked and stole second to lead off the frame and J. Sitzmann followed with a walk of his own. Both runners were advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch with Rogers due up. Rogers reached base on a crucial Wildcat error that scored both Farrell and Sitzmann. The Chargers weren't done in the inning as Riemer roped a double down the left field line, advancing Rogers to third. Quentin Evers singled through the left side of the infield to plate the Chargers' 11th run, extending the BC lead to 11-2.

LCU would fight back, carding one run on two hits and a Charger error in the bottom of the fifth, lessening the Chargers' lead to eight.

Briar Cliff added three more runs in the sixth. Farrell and Sitzmann both walked once again and were driven in by a three-run big shot to center field from Rogers and the lead was now 14-3.

With a large lead, the Charger offense was satisfied in the final inning. Lange singled to open the inning and advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch. Pinch-hitting for Jake Chronic, Easton Cone lined an RBI single to right field, carding the final run for the Chargers.
