The #12 ranked Charger women's basketball team cruised past the Golden Eagles of John Brown University 81-56, on Saturday afternoon in the McPherson Classic.

The Cliff got off to a 10-0 run in the first quarter, following a layup from
Kennedy Benne and a three-pointer from
Mallie McNair. The Chargers closed out the first quarter 21-8 after a three-pointer from
Grace Flanagan and a layup from
Konnor Sudmann.

The Chargers led by as many as 22 in the second quarter, following a layup by
Konnor Sudmann. The Cliff closed the first half on a 5-2 run and led 43-23.

Briar Cliff led wire-to-wire in the second half and cruised to an 81-56 victory.

Mallie McNair scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Grace Flanagan recorded 15 points and shot 50% from beyond the arc. Sudmann chipped in 14 points followed by Benne's 13 points.

BCU 47% from the field, and 40% from three-point land in the contest. They scored 35 points off turnovers in the contest. Briar Cliff's bench outscored the Golden Eagles 26-16 in the contest.

The Chargers improved to 2-0 on the season and will travel to Kansas City, Missouri next Wednesday for their matchup against Avila University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
