The RV Charger men's basketball team's winning streak improved to eight, as they took down Hannibal-LaGrange Friday evening 75-61.
Jamison Helmers led the way with 26 points on an efficient eight-for-14 from the field tonight.

"Tonight was a game we had to grind out, and I was happy with how we responded when shots weren't consistently falling," said Head Coach
Mark Svagera. "We were tough defensively and got some big stops in the second half."

The Cliff got off to an early 20-10 lead following a pair of free throws from
Blake Sindelar. The Trojans cut within six following a triple from Chris Cross. The Chargers led by as many as 14 in the first half, following a layup from Sindelar with a little over two minutes remaining in the half. BCU led 36-27 heading into the break. Helmers scored 17 points in the half and knocked down four threes. Sindelar added 11 points and was 50% from the field in the half.

In the second half,
Matthew Stilwill scored 19 points and went 10-for-12 from the charity stripe in the half. At the 16-minute mark,
Tyrus Eischeid knocked down a three-ball to give the Chargers a double-digit lead. With 1:40 left in regulation,
Wil Lugar extended the Charger lead to 15, after his backdoor cut led to an easy two hand slam. Briar Cliff would close the game out 75-61.

Stilwill finished the game with 21 points to go with five rebounds and five assists. Sindelar finished with 14 points followed by Eischeid's eight points and eight rebounds.

The Chargers will return to action tomorrow, as they take on RV Columbia at 4 p.m. in Columbia, Missouri.
