The Briar Cliff volleyball team fell in straight sets to Morningside Wednesday in Allee Gym. The Chargers move to 4-4 on the season and 0-1 in GPAC play.

The Mustangs held the lead in the first set for all but one point, however, the Chargers stayed within a couple of points for a majority of the set. Both teams held a .245 hitting percentage in the opening set.
Sami Wasmund paced the Cliff with five kills, one block and a .625 hitting percentage.
Toria Andre added three kills on five attempts.

After falling behind 12-6 in the middle of the set, the Chargers used a pair of 4-0 runs to pull within one point. Back-to-back kills from the Mustangs would end set one 25-21 in favor of Morningside.

BC's attack struggled in sets two and three, hitting .024 and .021, respectively. The Cliff out blocked the Mustangs 6-3 but had 29 kills to Morningside's 50.Â

Wasmund led the Cliff with nine kills, three blocks and a .389 attack percentage. Jones led the team with 22 digs and added two assists.
Tannah Heath dished out 13 assists with seven digs.Â

The Chargers head to Mitchell, South Dakota on Friday for a meeting with Dakota Wesleyan. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. against the Tigers.
