Briar Cliff baseball got back in the win column Saturday at Bishop Mueller Field with a sweep over Midland. The Chargers held off a late Warrior push in game one and took game two behind a dominating performance on the mound from
Dalen Blair.
"It was a great day to get back on track," said head coach
Corby McGlauflin. "Wesselmann got a big win in game one and Blair was absolutely lights out in game two. We had some timely hits that we missed the last few weeks."

Matthew Hmielewski to reach second base and score two Chargers to take a 4-2 lead.
The Warriors tacked on a run in the fifth and had a runner on third with two outs. Wesselmann held onto the 4-3 lead by forcing a groundout to second baseman

Easton Cone with a sacrifice fly, while
Cam Riemer hit a two-run homer, his 11th home run of the season, to take a 7-3 lead.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Midland loaded the bases looking for a final rally. The Warriors scored three runs, trailing 6-7, but Wesselmann would close out the win with his sixth strikeout.
