The Briar Cliff men's golf team sits in sixth place after the first 36 holes of the Shawnee Shootout in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Andrew Arndorfer is the top individual for the Cliff and is tied for 12th. 
 
"I think our biggest take away from the day is adjusting to course conditions when scoring conditions, like today's, were extremely difficult," said head coach Ben Irlbeck. "While reflecting overall course stats, par played to about 75, so battling until the last putt fell was of the utmost importance."
 
Arndorfer fired a 78 in round one and improved by one stroke in his second trip around the course to post a 155 (+15). Elijah Lamoureux is tied for 25th after carding a 159 (78, 81). Arndorfer and Lamoureux each rolled in two birdies.
 
Shaunak Rama posted a 79 in his first 18 holes with two birdies but turned in an 84 (+14) in round two and is tied for 41st. Mason Collins carded a 164 (87, 77) and ended his second round in a flurry, rolling in three birdies over his final four holes. Collins is tied for 44th after 36 holes. Desmond Landin was the fifth member of the Charger squad and posted a 168 (80, 88) and is tied for 55th.
 
"We have a lot of moving pieces on the team, so I'm really looking for some guys to step up and solidify their spots," said Irlbeck. "I feel very good about our post round adjustments today and look for a couple low scores tomorrow."

BC is just two strokes behind fifth-place Oklahoma Christian and 22 off the leader Southwestern Christian. 
 
Gregorio Fernandez, Braxton Brockhaus and Davess Verdugo competed individually in the tournament. Fernandez is in 47th with a score of 165 (82, 83) and played his second-round front nine at even par. Brockhaus is one shot back of Fernandez at 166 (84, 82) and is tied for 48th. Verdugo is 67th at 172 (83, 89).
 
The Chargers will look to climb the leaderboard in the final round of the Shawnee Shootout tomorrow at Shawnee Country Club.
